One of the great pleasures in life is eating.  It is not so much about the food, as it is about the people you are with and where you are.   I have had the good fortune of sharing many great meals - often prepared at the home of a friend, and sometimes at my home.  But, I am sure all will agree, there is nothing like going to a good restaurant with the one you love or with the friends you love.  I do like to share a good meal, and have created the page reviews that follow to let you know what I think of the restaurant itself, the food, the service, and if it was worth the cost.  I have a Feedback link on my site, so if you agree or disagree, let me know.  I am being careful about what I eat (want to get back to my fighting weight).   So, I am going to be 'picky' about my reviews.  I never judge anything except restaurants, and never on just one experience.  Talk to you soon.

Mama Rosas

If you want some of the best Italian food in Rochester, you have to go to Mama Rosa's.  Tony is by far one of the best cooks in the city, and he proves it when he makes you one of the dishes on or off his menu.  If you ask he is glad to do what he can for you.

But, in addition to the food is the ambiance.  It is real Italian American cuisine.  The atmosphere is friendly and I have yet to got there and not get engaged in a lively discussion about food, music, art, or something else that might be Italian.  Tony has shared his generosity in a glass of an digestivo with me on many occasions after a meal.

You also get a kiss of music through the golden tunes of Gianni, and his accordian.  Great music and another really fun person.  He plays there on Thursdays, so make it a point to catch him if you plan a meal out that day.  All in all it is a dining pleasure.
